Microsoft

Odd as it may seem, this time I am reviewing a company, and not a product. This company's name is Microsoft. Now be it as may, either you love them, or you hate them. But either way, you gotta have them :)
The following are just my own views, my experiences with the big guy, and may not reflect your own opinions..
First off let me say that On-nation is pro Microsoft.
Although our main site is hosted remotely by another company who uses their own choice. We here at ground zero still choose NT® for our networking, and other server needs. We have no control over our hosting company's choices, nor do we wish to. We praise them for their dedication to keeping this site secure.
My experiences in the past with Microsoft have been great. This is a company who works day & night improving their OS to meet everyone's needs.
They have an abundance of information readily available to you, and are willing to help you with many of the problems you may experience.
In my early days of computing, I would run around trying every little "add-on" program for Windows I could get ahold of. I soon discovered that if you took the time, you would probably find Windows® could already do that.
The plus side to this was simple. Some software you buy these days, has the attitude that if it does'nt work,, "you bought it, you eat it". That did'nt seem to be Microsoft's philosophy. Theirs was more like "we will keep making it better, and make sure it works for you". Well ok, it's more like "where do you want to go today" but I'm sure that's still what they are saying :)
I know what some are thinking. "Well they are big, and control all of us". Get real it's called support, not contol. Would you rather have some guy named Doofus, writing your OS from his basement?
When you needed his support maybe he would reply, or maybe next week after his fishing trip, or maybe not at all? Think about that.
Let's face it, if Microsoft had not been a major influence in creating DOS a long time ago, maybe we would still be writing a hundred lines of code just to print "hello" on the screen. Now that would sure put a damper on our chat room fun, would'nt it?
Sure, everything has flaws, it is not a perfect world. But the future we look to will always need leaders, and I still believe Microsoft will continue opening new horizons for all of us.
So whatever you may be using these day.
If it be Windows®, the blue one, that lil cute penguin dude, or even that guy Doofus. All in all,
Microsoft will still be there to bail you out of the problems. I have nothing short of respect for these guys, and will continue using their products.
By the way, they make some pretty cool games too. *wink* Have a good day,,,
